 Very pleased with the printer September 16, 2008
I have been very pleased with this printer. My old printer was a HP722C which was 8 years old. I had no problems with the setup other than there was one place the instructions were not very plain on just what they wished me to do next. However, I just read it over again and realized ther was only one way to go, and I did. The printing is, for my part, very good. And it is a fast printer. I am retired, and most of what I print is personal documents, and birthday cards, etc. The colors are good and the printer does duplex printing -- it will print both sides of the page without my having to turn the paper around and re-enter it. Have not used it long enough to know how much ink it uses and how much it will cost to replinish. I would buy it again in a minute if I had to buy a second printer.
 Missing CD Caddy September 15, 2008
This is a great printer but it amazes me that the IP4500 doesn't come with the CD Caddy in the USA. I own an (Australian)Canon IP5200, which is the same as the IP4500, but it came with the CD caddy and program to print onto CD/DVD's. But all was not lost, for an extra $24 on ebay you can buy the caddy and see a video on line on how to activate the CD/DVD printing funtion of this unit.
 Perfect for all types of printing September 15, 2008
We have been very pleased with our purchase of this printer. Our needs did not include fax/copier capabilities, but did include complex booklet, front/back, and other types of varied printing, all of which it has done extremely well and fast for a basic home printer. I have not printed yet using photo paper, but have printed on standard letter-size card stock and have been thrilled. We like not having an all-in-one ink cartridge, since our printing tends to concentrate in certain colors. I recommend this printer highly for the user that needs to print quality documents at home but does not need/want fax and/or copier capabilities.
A great photo printer September 15, 2008
This printer does a excellent job on any type of prints from 4"x6" to matte 8.5"x11". I use Canon paper and inks and the pictures look as though they came out of a photo lab. Colors are very good and you have extensive control over color printing functions. Very easy to use. Printing text is very good and is a very good all round printer. Too bad it doesn't have a review LCD screen built in and will not print in black only. You may print in grayscale only if you wish. The American version will not print labels on CD's. Other than that it seems to be a flawless machine that is easy to use and has easy to understand manuals that explain everything. I have owned 5 other printers of different brands and I have fallen in love with this one. I liked it so much that I purchased a second one for another computer that my wife has. So far it has been a really good product and a true bargain.

This is a great printer, I've had it for a few weeks. Set up was easy, colors are good both on photos & full color pages. It looks good and prints at good speed. I would recommend this product to others.
