Does exactly what it's designed to do. July 7, 2008
This thing works great. You will need a fairly decent amount of flat-ish dash to set it on, but it really does a nice job of holding the GPS in place. A must have if you live in a state that doesn't allow suction cups on the windshield.

We recently purchased the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for our GPS because we wanted to be able to easy move the GPS either from car to car or out of sight when parked. Using the suction cup defeats the purpose of keeping it out of site, since the mount stays on the window so we decided to try this product instead. We are VERY happy with it. It holds the GPS securly and never shifts on the dashboard at all. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.
Awesome mount July 6, 2008
we use this mount all the time to move the gps between cars and also to quickly pput it out of view. just used it 8 days on vacation and it works seamlessly, a great buy and better alternative to windshield mount!

It's a great product. It stays put and holds my Garmin without any movement. Once you set it up it locks in place. Highly recommended.
