4 out of 5 stars new kindle user   November 16, 2008

I am very happy with my kindle. It has done the job of rekindling my reading passion. I really enjoy the ability to review books before I buy them. The selection is very good. I do not like the position of the turn page buttons. I have a tendency of hitting the turn page button at the wrong time. Would I buy one again? You betcha! MKH

5 out of 5 stars Greatest invention since sliced bread...wait, it's better than that   November 16, 2008

The best purchase I've ever made! How did I ever live without my Kindle? I thought it was pretty great as I purchased it, but it's value to me increased ten-fold once I figured out how to create my own Mobipocket books. The Kindle displays those just like it's native .azw files, so you can create books for it that are of professional quality, with graphics and everything. I'm slowly digitizing my entire library, so I can see a day in the not-too-distant future when I don't have a single hard-copy book in my house (I actually prefer reading off the Kindle to reading a "real" book). Add to that that I can then take my entire library anywhere I go and surf the internet (in basic fashion) and play music from it and I'm in love with my Kindle! Thank you Amazon!

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE my Kindle   November 16, 2008

I've had my Kindle since April 08 and I wouldn't trade it for anything! I have no complaints at all. What I really like best is how easy on my eyes reading the Kindle is when I increase the font size. I find that I can read so much faster with no eye strain as I've always had in the past with a regular paperback. I highly recommend purchasing the attachable book light to use when reading in an area that is not well lit. The Kindle Store is wonderful! So many choices. You can try a sample of any book before buying it. Also, many magazines and blogs to choose from for a very reasonable price. And up-to-date news available, too. I LOVE my kindle!!!

5 out of 5 stars I love this unit! Best new techy toy in years!   November 16, 2008

I received my Kindle as a gift and haven't been without it since! I love this unit! Definitely the best techy toy to come our way in years! The main problem I see, is that I really should be getting a commission for all those being sold after someone talks to me about mine! (I'm serious!) I have found it a wonderful answer to wanting something between my PDA & laptop. Still learning to use the Experimental sections.
Savings on book purchases has outweighed the initial cost of unit.
The selection of available books is wonderful, keep adding to the collection though. Would like to see more trade-professional magazines too. I also enjoy the one click purchase, with the security of same.
All we need now is a Kindle that can take the place of my PDA, an organizer for business and personal, like an Outlook program inside, and I'll be set for years to come!
