5 out of 5 stars Solid and dependable   June 23, 2008

This model is really Old Reliable. The price is right, the sound is fine (and there's volume control), the one-touch dialing is simple to program, the keys light up, and -- as I can affirm -- you can drop the phone onto a hard floor without it breaking.

4 out of 5 stars Yes, you need a regular phone   June 19, 2008

For a very small investment, I'd recommend getting this phone to keep in touch with the world when our ubiquitous "fancy" technologies fail. We keep this phone connected to a jack in our office next to our desk where it's handy for everyday and it always works, regardless of power failures. You may think you have a real back-up to your cell phone if you have a land line, but remember that portable phones require electricity to work. I particularly chose this phone cause it doesn't have Caller ID (which requires batteries that need replacing) and the previous A T & T Trimline phone we had lasted over 10 years. We consider it part of our emergency preparedness.

5 out of 5 stars Works great for the data transmissions I needed for.   June 5, 2008
Great Price, works as necessary for me to transmit data from my scanner to the Homescan website.

5 out of 5 stars back to basics   May 15, 2008
I purchased these phones to use durings power outages. They are simple but rugged and will probably last forever. A bargain at $12 each.

5 out of 5 stars Great phone   April 22, 2008
The phone is a classic - I like the emergency buttons, lighted console, and the programmable feature for instant dialing.
