disappointed January 30, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
It is definitely not a self-help book, quite a lot of information though. So how to treat yourself though moment - to moment paradoxical relaxation? Unfortunately ,you will not find the answer in the book.
Review of Headache in the Pelvis November 14, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm only half way thru the book, but it has been very relevant to my situation. It contains more information about this problem than I have ever found anywhere else. A little disappointing that the intro suggests that the book provides a self help solution, but the material in the book says professional help is likely needed. But I am trying to practice its recommendations anyway. This book is worth it just for the extensive info it provides, and has potential to help lots more.
Rays of Light in the darkness of Pelvic Pain October 29, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had pelvic pain for about a year. Came to know about this book in May 2007. After reading the book, i clearly understood the problem which two urologists could not understand. Just by trying the stretches i had 20% improvement. Found a PT in my home town to treat trigger points in the style explained in book but she could not locate most of my trigger points.
Finally was convinced enough from the book and other people online that the treatment protocol offered by the authors of this book would help me, i went to attend the clinic 10 days ago and i feel i got rid of 50% of my pain . People tend to under estimate the power of relaxation and just focus on Physical Therapy. But you need to try both of them for permanent cure in my opinion. Check http://www.pelvicpainhelp.com for further details.
I ordered another copy today to present to my primary physician so that she can advise her future patients right way.
This book did what several doctors could not! If you are having similar problems buy this book before others October 24, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I will keep this short. I was having major pains in my pelvic area and groin region and was told I had "prostatitis" by a couple doctors who loaded me up on antibiotics and messed me up even more. Then saw other doctors who told me I was fine and it was in my head. I suffered quite a bit and went through several regimens to treat myself, fasting, many exams, scans, etc and nothing worked. I read several books, websites, forums and became a bit of an expert (at least on the info out there). When reading this and it helped me understand what the possible problem could be and and when trying some of the recommended things in this book, I am telling you..on a scale of 1-10 in pain, I was a 10 and went down to 1 and then almost 0! I still have to be aware of stressing the muscles in that area, stretching, stress relief but I was so glad to have read this book.
thank goodness I did not have surgery as was discussed. My family and friends went through hell with me suffering so much I was a horrible mess. then they call me and I am like "Oh, that is over with, I am fine" What a relief. I truly appreciate their new approach vs the old "give them antibiotics or remove it" mentality that most doctors have. I wish the same relief to those who went through what I did. Good luck and Please buy this book 1st and foremost.
A Headache in the Pelvis August 27, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
An excellent resource for anyone who suffers with pain due to Pelvic Floor Disfunction. I found this book to be very informative. It is written in layman's terms so you don't have to be a medical professional to understand it. PFD is a syndrome that effects millions of people worldwide, many of whom are at their wits end as to what to do to find relief. This book will help them understand what they have and what they can do to help themselves. I would highly recommend it to anyone with PFD as well as their spouses, partners or caregivers.
