Gives Another Meaning to Motivation October 3, 2008 Yes the man is incredible for his accomplishments! I wish he had included more stories about the marathons (some he skipped and wrote personal advise instead) He needed to make this a longer book. That's why I gave it 4-stars.
motivation included September 21, 2008 motivation with every page! great book for the runner, and athlete in your life. also purchase ultramarathon man!
Learning from Superman September 17, 2008 As an ultrarunner who has completed 50 miles numerous times over thep ast decade and fallen short of 100 numerous times too, I greatly anticpated the release of Dean Karnazes 50/50: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days -- and How You Too Can Achieve Super Endurance. What a great read! Dean weaves training tips, suggestions, and lessons that he has learned amid the tales of his successful completion of 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days. What a daunting accomplishment.
50/50 is an engaging and inspiring read!
the man is amazing September 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great stories and inspriation from Dean...I read one page and want to run and run and run! If he can do 50 marathons in 50 days I can go and run 10 mles! I love the inspriation and positive feelngs I get from this book!
Very inspirational! September 13, 2008 I picked up this book with a bit of doubt, but once I opened it, I couldn't put it down. I'd heard that running marathons took irreparable toll on the body, so I couldn't imagine what Karnazes was going to look and feel like after the 50.
Karnazes' book is written with humility and useful tidbits of running advice. I often think of this book when I think I can't go any further in my short runs (I only started taking short runs a couple of months ago mainly for bone density.) I highly recommend this book as a can't-put-it-down read as well as an inspirational get-out-there-and-do-it motivational book.
