5 out of 5 stars Recipes that are great for everyone everyday!   August 11, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Giada's first book, Everyday Italian, is one of my go-to books for great food. Although I have yet to cook every recipe, every one I HAVE made has come out wonderfully to rave reviews from my family. I admit that I am a novice in the kitchen - Giada has helped me and my husband to not look it! The directions are easy to follow and most ingredients are readily available at my local grocery. I do enjoy "cooking alongside" Giada and try to TiVo her show to watch while I experiment in the kitchen.
One thing for me and my taste buds, though, is to look over the recipes and alter the seasonings to my own tastes - Giada loves lemon more than I and uses it profusely.
I agree with a previous reviewer on the lack of photographs. Alas, I find that to be the case with most Amerian/European cookbooks (not so with those from Japan published in Japanese...but I can't read those very well!) Despite the lack of photos, Giada's recipes are fairly easy to make and delicious to eat, no matter what they ended up looking like! Buon appetito!

3 out of 5 stars Too bad there is no pictures   July 31, 2008

Great Recipes!! Good explanations and tips.

I would just liked to have the pictures of the recipes instead of the cook! She's pretty but it's not very helpful to know of it will look like...

5 out of 5 stars My Favorite Cookbook   July 11, 2008
I received this cookbook as a Christmas present this past year. My son is very picky when it comes to food - he has excellent taste and likes everything home-made. Which is a challenge for a working mom. We've made several recipes from this book and liked them all. A few have become favorites that we make quite often. Not only do they taste great, but Giada provides short-cuts so you're not cooking a 2 hour dinner like some other Italian cookbooks. I highly recommend this book.

Ok, I bought the book because Giadda is so beautiful. The recipes aren't bad either.
