5 out of 5 stars VERY good sequel!!   November 17, 2008
I was almost afraid to read this book, because I love Twilight so much and didn't want to contend with a weak sequel. No worries, because this book is VERY GOOD!! It sets up a love triangle and there's new creatures. I think Bella's emotional reaction to her situation with Edward is very believable. Twilight creates a romance which is very powerful and intense, so her emotions in New Moon are quite normal.

Despite being so disturbing, I thought the introduction of the darker and complex side of the Vampire world necessary and important. Most importantly - and I wish it had been addressed in Twilight - is the discussion of God and whether or not Vampires have souls. What happens to a Vampire when they die? Can they go to Heaven? Do Vampires believe in God? Edward's fears about his own soul - and Bella's - are central to their story, although only touched upon lightly in a few scattered comments.

This is a good book, a very good sequel. If you liked Twilight, you will probably definitely enjoy New Moon.

5 out of 5 stars New Moon (Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer)   November 17, 2008
This book gives readers a lot of insight to the passion behind character Bella Swan's feelings for Edward Cullen. Many readers describe this book in the series as a slow read, but for those of us that have been in love or are in love, know that this book illusrates so much more than any of the other books combined. You will feel a large range of emotions and you will truely empathize with Bella because Stephanie Meyer does a phenomonal job of expressing the longing and love that she has for her "forever love" Edward.

4 out of 5 stars Vampiers, Werewolfs, and Humans oh my!   November 17, 2008
The book I'm reviewing is New Moon. The Book is by Stephenie Meyer. The book is the 2nd book of the Twilight Saga. The genre is Fictional Romance.

Edward left Bella because he thought it was the best for her. That leaves Bella sad, lonely, and miserable. She goes to an old friend Jacob Black. Bella knows he is keeping a secret from her. Later on in the book Bella discovers Jacobs's secret. When Edward hears that Bella might have killed herself he went to Volturi to get himself killed. This book is wonderful and I can't wait to read the other book from the twilight saga. I think it is suited for middle school kids and older women. Also people who like romance, action, and suspense.

5 out of 5 stars My Favorite Book   November 17, 2008
The book I read is New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. This book is fiction because the main characters are vampires and they don't exist in real life. The book is also a romance and love story.
The main characters are Edward, Bella and Jacob. In New Moon, after Edward left, Bella was depressed and went to school, work and never really had a social life. But then Bella met Jacob Black. He is two years younger than Bella. Bella had just turned 18, and Jacob is 16 years old. Bella spent almost every hour of every day with Jacob, he "almost completely sealed the hole in her heart" after Edward left Bella.
I loved this book!!! It's one of favorite books I've ever read. I think these books appeal to me because it is a romance. Some parts are kind of slow but then they it gets exciting. I would recommend this book to middle school girls.

1 out of 5 stars A Trying Read   November 17, 2008
Talk about going off on a tangent
this book was such a disapointment in comparision to the first
i felt the story was flighty and the characters lost much of the charm they had in the first book. while not as bad as the third book, i can think of a million things to better ocupy the time this book takes to read!
this actually made me dislike the first book which is not a good step!
my recomendations if your determined to read this series is read book one and four! SKIP BOOK TWO and THREE at ALL COSTS!
