Product Description The Freestyle Snorkel is the first snorkel designed specifically for freestyle swimmers. The advanced shape allows the swimmer to achieve a lower head position during freestyle and therefore further optimize body position.Training Benefits:The Swimmer's Snorkel Allows the swimmer to keep their face down in the water and concentrate on their stroke. This a great way to improve on stroke mechanics. With significant training, proper stroke technique, body position, balance, and streamline positioning can be committed to memory. Increases lung capacity and aerobic conditioning. The distance the air has to travel to get to and from the lungs is increased by the length of the snorkel. This forces the swimmer to develop a stronger inhale and exhale while swimming. As the lungs develop, fewer breaths will be needed for each lap, which will reduce times. Used and endorsed by many top swimming coaches and programs.

Takes getting used to September 8, 2008 I have the finis center mount snorkel and I got the hang of that one but this one gives me some trouble. I bought the freestyle snorkel because I've seen some great swimmers all using it so I had to give it a try but I prefer the center mount snorkel. Supposedly the freestyle snorkel is bent to make it harder for water to come in at the top but a lot of water was getting in. (Of course I'm not sure if water came in the top or if my seal around the mouthpiece was not tight enough or how water was getting in.) I'm not giving up on it altogether but i found the center mount snorkel easier to use.

We are using this snorkel in swim lessons to work on body balance. It is a great tool because if you move your head out of place, you get water in the snorkel. It is easy to use and comfortable.
Better than the original February 9, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Much more stable than previous Finis snorkel. Allows for much more fluid stroke mechanics.
Extended swimming- Great gear for exercising December 18, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this snorkel. I personally are not a huge fan of exercising, but I do enjoy swimming, and decided to use swimming as my exercise program. At first, I got very tired after very few laps, but after starting to use the freestyle snorkel, I can swim much more without getting tired or having to stop every few laps. The difference was incredible for me. I went from swimming about 700m to about 2000 in a matter of days. I enjoy the fact that I can breathe when I want/need, independantly of at what stage of the stroke I am. Since I swim for the exercise, and not competitively, this is a great product. I give only 4 stars, because after 2 months of use, one of the pieces that get in your mouth for you to bite (it has 2, not sure how to call them) came off, probably due to me biting to hard on it, could still be used quite comfortably with only one of these, but still went ahead and bought another.
This product has made swimming an enjoyable exercise. I love it and would recommend it to anybody.
