Amazon.com Product Description Speedo's line of competition swim goggles are designed for the serious competitor. Made from the highest-quality materials available, the low-profile design of the Vanquisher Swim Goggle will give any swimmer the competitive advantage. The anti-fog, polycarbonate lens is shatter-resistant and is UV protected. The soft silicone lens gaskets sit in a low profile on your face and offer cushioned protection. For a more comfortable swim and to avoid water intake, choose the right size of nose piece from the three provided. About Speedo In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didn't take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of it's manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange. Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits. Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Holland's Inge de Bruijn. It's great! July 1, 2008
I bought the goggles one month ago and used them almost everyday, it's comfortable and sealed very well. anti-fog really works. it doesn't hurt the eye. I can't say anything about the durability cause I have it less than a month. for this price it's a good chice.
Great goggle May 7, 2008 Adjustable bands and nose grip, soft rubber protections around eyes. I thought this goggle lenses might be silver color also, but they were clear.
Pretty Good Goggles May 6, 2008 The seal around the eye(s) is fantastic. The split head band easy to adjust and stays put. The anti-fog film is the best I've ever had (36 years of experience). It lasts for about 45 minutes for me. I'm not exactly sure why it gives up when it does, but until then, it's flawless. The only gripe I have is the fit around the bridge of my nose. Even with the largest of the nose fittings (a package of assorted sizes come with each pair) I am left with divots in my nose at the end of my workout. The seal and anti-fog (until it fails) is so impressive that I still choose these googles over several others that I have. If I had a smaller nose I'd be in goggle heaven.
Awesome swim goggles May 5, 2008 This product is just plain awesome. I wear contacts so was worried about the water washing away my contacts and worse giving me an eye infection. These goggles come well to the rescue. Even after an hour of swimming, my eyes were dry with no water leaking in. Would have given 5 stars, if it was easier to change the nose grip.
Swim goggles in the car April 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't exactly wear these goggles as they were meant to be used. I have eye allergies that are greatly aggravated by the heater in my car. They work really well. They keep all the allergens out. I might look a little silly, but what works works.
