Parts missing! July 23, 2008 Although the item arrived on time and in good condition, like other buyers, pertinent parts were missing (bolts, etc.). Rather than go through the hassle of sending back the product, I am hoping to find these parts at my local hardware store. A friend of mine has the same chinning bar (with all the parts, obviously) and so far, it is excellent, particularly for the P90X workouts.
This item rocks July 22, 2008
People People People, I have read many negative reviews about this product, and it looks like the common complaint is that its not stable, maybe you all might want to try using a vise grip to fasten the screws, and trust me you will never slip off again....using your hand to tighten the screws "Not Smart" .......The screws do go all the way down TRY IT !! I have been bodybuilding for 7 years......Results.....Priceless THIS ITEM ROCKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSS
Could Be Better... July 15, 2008 After opening the box and counting the bolts, I was missing a few. Not sure where they had gone. It seems the were loosely packed so perhaps they fell out of the flimsy box.
Lucky I have some nuts/bolts/washers laying in my toolbox and they seem to fit.
This bas is definitely NOT for small door frames! If your door is under 26" in width, then this would not work. My door happen to be 24" in width. I live in a studio apartment so the only door I have if the bathroom door. I would use the entrance but then people would be walking by and watching me work out.
Also, the foam pads wore off on the 2nd set of chin-ups. I basically had metal chaffing onto my door frame.
The bar creaks like it wasn't made to last. I weigh in at almost 200 lbs. and I'm afraid the bar might give at any moment.
I'll give this bar another 6 months before it'll finally break on me...
works like a charm July 12, 2008 Bought this for my new work out routine to include with the P90X, and it works great! fits very solidly in my door frame, and hasnt fallen off or anything yet, very sturdy design, a good name brand and a pretty good price as well
No problems - big arms June 27, 2008 Im not sure what all these people are talking about with "hard to setup this and that". The directions were simple and I put it together and was using it within 30 minutes. I dont/havent gotten any tools so this unit is not together right, however the bolts and everything still holds under my weight (178 lbs). Soild unit, Im impressed.
