Minimalist's Nirvana July 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very nice, and well thought out tool. The essence of this tool's design is to notice that those big, heavy, clunky fists full of allen wrench type tools are a complete waste of metal except for the last 1/4" which forms the part of the bit that does all of the work. It also cleverly includes two tire irons and a nice swivel head. Unlike the big clunkers, this tool actually fits pretty well in my hand, and isn't too bad to turn like a screwdriver. It can also be pivoted so the body works like a T-handle with lots of torque on hand.
So, why not 5-stars? I was recently on a century ride where a guy's brake/shifter block clamp was loose and they were slipping badly down his handlebar. There was a LOT of climbing on this ride and he was very upset that this tool would not allow him to reach the adjustment screw - and unforgivably, neither the aid station nor SAG wagons carried any tools. My Sears alloy-shank bit driver with a handle full of Bondhaus hex bits worked perfectly. Although it takes up just a slight bit more space it weighs about the same amount.
This is the best combination tool I have found yet, and in conjunction with a micro-Leatherman, it is a good and effective solution for those who just can't live with one extra gram. For now, I will stick with my highly optimized custom solution wrought from years of experience, but this is the next best thing.

This is a well made tool that serves the most needed bike tool functions in a minimum of space and weight.
