 Fine shoe but stains socks September 3, 2008
The Sperry Top-Sider Men's Casuals Tremont Kiltie Tassel, Amaretto is a fine shoe, but I agree with the comment of the reviewer who said, "They do have one drawback that will probably go away after a while, they are making my socks (or my feet when I don't wear socks) turn black." I have had my shoes for three months and they are still making my socks turn black. If I soak my socks in an Oxy Clean stain remover solution for 24 hours, I can get most of the stain out. If they are white socks, I can bleach them and get them almost white again. In the fullness of time the black will fade, but it may take years. In the meantime, I wear lined loafers or shoes when I need to wear socks and dress up. Perhaps someone can suggest a quick and easy method of making the black go away.

I really like the way they look. The quality is good. They do have one drawback that will probably go away after a while, they are making my socks (or my feet when I don't wear socks) turn black.

I'm on my third pair of these. They're great for traveling; they can serve as either black or brown shoes in a push for dress casual. After they get beat up, you can even wear them without socks with shorts
