I bought my blue Floridas about 12 years ago, the ones with the Birko-flor. I like them better than the leather or suede Birks because you can clean them off with some soap and water and just generally get them wet and it just doesn't bother them. The dark blue works well with dress/office clothes and I've worn mine to work every summer. Also, the Birko-flor has a felted backing, so there's no irritation and I can't even feel the straps. Then, of course, there's my veggie side, as far as the uppers. The footliner is suede as usual, though.
Mine have become rather stiff over the past couple of years, as far as footstrike cushion. Maybe I'm due for some new cork, but there's no defects in any part of my shoes even after this long.
For sizing, I wear a 9M/W and got a 39R because the 40 seemed way too big. I'd get the 40R if I did it over again. My toes kind of extend past where they're supposed to and the width kind of narrowed. Let your feet sprawl like they're supposed to!

This product has the hallmark consistency of sizing and quality that has made Birkenstock. This sandal is a good value and I have received many compliments on it's style. I would definitely purchase it again.

I have a worn out pair of the same style and size that I purchased in Germany. The width of this pair is narrower which I don't understand.
