Amazon.com Review For sailors, surfers, hang-gliders, or kite-fliers, this nifty gadget is a must-have for keeping tabs on current wind conditions. The tiny handheld anemometer comes in a sporty, yellow, plastic, weather-resistant casing, making it ideal for use during water activities or rainy weather. About 5 seconds after powering up, the anemometer reports the current wind speed in either miles per hour, kilometers per hour, meters per second, or Knots plus, displays wind speed on a Beaufort Scale bar graph. The module also records the maximum and average wind speeds for any 2- to 10-second period of time, and recalls them at the user's prompting. This anemometer also measures current temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius and wind chill. The LCD screen has a backlight, making the display easy to read even in low-light conditions. The display automatically turns off every 8 seconds in order to preserve the life of the 3-volt lithium cell battery. This anemometer comes with a handy neck band to help prevent you from losing it in foul weather, and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Nice Equipment June 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have really enjoyed this! Very easy to use and not hard to change settings. I especially like how you can track average, current or max wind speed. Back light button is a real plus.
Hunting nicices June 7, 2008 If you hunt or target shoot, this wind speed meter is just the ticket. It sure takes the guess work out of wondering just what to expect for wind drift.
good product June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is smaller than I thought it would be. It's about the size of a Ipod. It appears accurate. I even held it in front of a leaf blower and reached speeds over 90 miles an hour. Can't wait to take it boating.
Great Product April 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use it for rc soaring, and is just great. I also use it for sailing and it gets wet, so nice thing it's water proof. Very good product for the price.
Works fine!!!!!!!! March 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First i would like to say to the guy who bad mouthed Amazon.....My battery was fully charged and the unit works just fine for what it is! If U want a High tech weather station go spend a zillion bucks!! In my book Amazon "ROCKS!" I have Never had a bad purchase from them!!! It would have been nice to have a cover for it but for 40 bucks it is still worth it! Im sure I can go to any # of stores and find a cheap cell phone cover to fit nicely. I fly expensive RC sailplanes...And now I have an estimate of the wind before I toss a 800 dollar plane off a cliff!!! How ignorant can some people be to figure anything that comes with batterys will still be good!!! Any time I buy something with batterys, I toss them and replace them with GOOD...QUALITY....CHARGED.....Batterys! DUHH!!! Thanks Amazon!!....... Once again, you delivered a good product at a price NO one can beat. Dave
