Safe, Comfortable Bedtime on the Go
The PeaPod P201 is a lightweight sleeping tent, which comes with an inflatable air mattress to keep your child's bedtime comfortable. An air pump is included. The mattress fits snugly inside the sleeping tent "pod," which features a wraparound mesh canopy with a wide, zippered opening to give parents quick and easy access, or to allow an older child to crawl in and out easily. Your child can nap in comfort outdoors, thanks to the canopy's UV protection and to a wide windscreen. The pod also includes a washable sleeping bag that can double as a sleeping pad.

Travel Light
The last thing you need while you're traveling with a baby or young child is to lug a lot of extra luggage around. Rather than packing a Pack'n'Play or a folding bassinet, which are cumbersome and heavy, simply pack the ultra-light, super-compact PeaPod away in your suitcase. At 19 x 6.5 x 19 inches (LxWxH) when closed, it takes up little space, and it comes with a carrying case for easy portability. And at 52.5 x 34 x 25 inches (LxWxH) when open, the PeaPod will take up little space once you reach your destination.

The PeaPod is also designed to open and fold shut quickly and easily. Other than the included air pump for quickly inflating the small mattress, no tools are needed: simply follow the directions to "snap" it into its standing position, and fold it back down quickly when finished. So whether you're traveling across the country, making a weekend trip to the beach, or simply spending the day at a friend's house, the PeaPod Portable Travel Bed makes it super-easy and convenient for baby to sleep comfortably and safely while on the go.

5 out of 5 stars It works! Who woulda thought?   August 27, 2008
We just returned from a trip to New England and while preparing for the trip, I came across this tent and thought the reviews were good and I liked the idea of not having to drag the pack and play all over with us. Honestly, I was pretty skeptical despite the good reviews, but I thought I would give it a shot. Our 15 month old baby slept great in the tent. I liked that the blow up mat goes in a pocket underneath the tent, so there is no risk of the baby getting trapped under the mat at night. I also liked that you can zip them up in the tent so they won't escape at night. The only problem we had was she likes to burrow in the corners of her crib and when she did this in the tent, it was kind of noisy. Also, at night if she was fussing it was hard to get access to her to pat her back or give her a bottle without undoing the zipper and making noise that way. But that was all pretty minimal given the convience. At one point we went to a lake and it was great having a place where she could rest in the shade, out of the sun.

The tent packs up well. I recall reading reviews where people said it was hard to fold up. I read the instructions once and was able to fold it up easily. Honestly, just don't over think it or force it. I think the model we chose was the bigger one, so we could continue to use it as our baby gets older but it still fit in our suitcase just fine.

I also thought the pump was sufficient. Seriously, if you go out and buy an electric pump for this, you're just lazy. It really isn't that bad. The pump is small and light weight. I did find if you squeezed the mat valve with one hand while you pumped with the other, it was more efficient.

I don't really get the sleeping bag that comes with the tent. It's cute and we'll probably use it later, but I thought it was kind of bulky and I worried about our baby getting caught up in it - she tends to move around a lot when she sleeps. It's cute though, a little bonus I guess.

So all in all, we're really happy with the baby tent. Like I said, I didn't think our baby would sleep in it, but she did great. I did think the price was pretty steep (around $80 I think?) but the quality was fairly good.

4 out of 5 stars Good at Home, Too.   August 19, 2008
I've had a PeaPod Plus for several months, and we use it nearly every weekend without major issues. My son, now 16 months, took to it immediately. He likes to sleep in it so much that we leave it up all the time in the living room... when he's tired, he just crawls in and takes a nap. He also has fun playing in it with his toys. Even the dog likes it: he hides in there during storms. Like some other reviewers, I just put a crib sheet over the air mattress and put it inside. (Although the sheet size is different, the flocked texture of the air mattress keeps it from sliding.) As many others mentioned, the air pump is basically useless, but inflating it without one isn't a problem. I think the sleeping bag is terrible. The fabric is soooo polyester and not very soft. It feels as if it would be uncomfortable, especially in warmer weather, so we don't use that either. The bag that comes with it is big enough that you don't have to squeeze every bit of air out to cram it in, which is nice. The biggest issue I've had is with the zippers. They seem like regular zippers by day, but then at night with a sleeping baby, they become the LOUDEST thing ever.

With a nicer sleeping bag, functional pump, and stealth zippers, this thing would be perfect.

4 out of 5 stars fun bed   August 18, 2008

A friend of mine told me about this bed. My daughter feels like she has a hide out to play in. As for sleeping it's comfortable, but she does roll out sometimes and when I have to put her down I have to get down on my knees and slide her in while trying to hold up the side flap. It was easy to put up and move around and doesn't weigh too much. I hope to get more use out of it in the future.

5 out of 5 stars A travel must!!!   July 31, 2008

This is a great product...way better than lugging a playpen! Unfolds and folds up quickly and easily...I had no problems folding it up. Fits into a suitcase easily and is lightweight. We used it while camping and for naps at grandma's house for our 10 month old, and we're thinking of buying another one for a second child in the future. I will never travel without it again! Only drawback was the airpump it comes with, pretty useless, but doesn't take too long to inflate by mouth.

2 out of 5 stars GREAT idea... difficult to execute!   July 28, 2008
We bought the peapod plus last week and we are returning it tomorrow! First of all, our 13 month old is used to sleeping in a pack-n-play when we travel and was SO SCARED to be zipped into the tent. She slept terribly, wanted out, and I had to get in with her to help her fall asleep... but she didn't stay asleep because she woke up and got scared. We also tried repeatedly to open and close it and we decided its too difficult to close it properly. When not closed properly, it does not open properly. We would find this very frustrating when travelling. The pack-n-play is heavy but at least we can't damage the shape or hurt the frame... and our baby sleeps in it through the night. Guess we'll stick to lugging it around!
