Time Correct windings provide accurate phase and amplitude signal response for full, natural music reproduction. PEX dielectric prevents signal loss and allows fast and accurate signal transfer. MicroFiber dielectric is used on selected conductors for clear reproduction of transients. The cable has Monster's patented 8-cut Turbine Design RCA connectors for improved signal transfer and a long lasting connection.Interlink 400 MkII provides extended frequency response with deep, tight bass and smooth, natural sounding highs. From the Manufacturer
High Definition Interconnect with Time-Correct Windings, Bandwidth-Balanced Construction, and Dual Solid-Core Conductors for Enhanced Audio Performance High-Performance Systems Require High-Performance Cables Today's movies and music recordings contain more information than ever before: higher resolution, extended frequency response, and wider dynamic range. They demand advanced interconnect cables that have the ability to transfer these complex signals. Over the years, audiophiles and home theatre enthusiasts have discovered that inferior cables can degrade your system's sound and decrease your overall enjoyment of the home entertainment experience. Ordinary cable technology and even so-called "high performance" cable designs can often limit sound, restrict dynamic range, and deliver second-rate sound reproduction. Poor construction and mediocre materials are simply incapable of transferring all the signals that better components deliver. Interlink 400 MkII's Precision Technologies Deliver Top Performance Interlink 400 MkII (I400 MKII) features bandwidth-balanced dual solid-core center conductor design for smooth, balanced reproduction of dialog, effects, and music soundtracks. Patented time-correct windings accurately transfer both highs and lows with improved clarity and definition. And Monster's innovative PEX dielectric ensures faster, more accurate signal transfer, even over long runs. With I400 MkII, bass notes are deep and tight. Transients are faster, revealing greater detail, whether it's a light cymbal tap on your favorite CD or the tinkling of glass in a movie. Imaging is precise, with tremendous depth and the incredible accuracy of soundstage. And I400 MkII's improved phase response delivers a smoothness and feel that's so natural you'll marvel at just how good your system sounds. Monster's Patented Turbine RCA Connector: The World's Finest Interlink 400 MkII's award-winning RCA connectors have a specially designed collet strain relief that withstands pulls of 100 pounds or more, so the connector stays put, even when components are moved. These premium 24k-gold contact, eight-diagonal-cut connectors provide optimum signal transfer and corrosion resistance. Monster's split-tip center pin increases contact pressure, and four O-ring non-slip rubber grips make handling and connecting easy. Maximize Your System's Performance One listen to Interlink 400 MkIIs and you'll hear the extraordinary improvements that properly designed cables can make. For better home theatre sound and music reproduction, get I400 MkII--the true audiophile cable. Product Description Two multiple-gauge bandwidth-balanced wire networks. Time-correct windings. PEX dielectric. Micro fiber dielectric on selected conductors. Patented 8-cut turbine design gold-plated RCA connectors.

There are better cables June 3, 2008 I'll keep this short and sweet. First of all, I have used Monster Cable products in the past and while I find them slightly better than the OEM cables that are usually supplied with the gear, there are competitive alternatives. And actually some cable retailers out there like monoprice.com for example, supplies a premium line of interconnect RCA's (even HDMI's) that are a fraction of the cost, but just as good in my opinion as some higher priced Monster Cables.
(Do some research.)
If you want to move up the food chain, then check out bluejeanscable.com or signalcable.com. Prices are very competitve to Monster's prices with one BIG difference. Bluejeans and signalcable products are far more superior within their price range than the Monster offerings and you'll get more bang for your buck. Again, this is just my opinion based on my experience. However, check reviews for yourself and do a little research is my advice. You may be surprised and end up with a little more coin in your pocket, plus some audiophile grade cables that really shine.
Good luck!
Monster Cable December 12, 2007 Never thought audio cable could make such a difference in sound. I was wrong. This interlink 400 MKII is amazing cable. Definitely worth the picture.
Wonderful sound ! February 26, 2004 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
These cables are excelent. They reproduce bass, middle and highs very clearly and in a soft way. They sound very good and natural. I think the guys who had problems should had checked their equipments, room accoustic and speakers before review this product.
Good sounding cable, but cheaply made connectors June 23, 2003 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've had this cable for about 6 months. It made an immediate difference to my system. It sounds clear, transparent, smooth. Also, I like the directional indicators on the cable which help in installation. My only gripe is that the connectors are cheaply made. When one of the "grab" pins broke off, I realized the connector is not all metal construction (like you would expect for the price). The pin was made of plastic - quite a disappointment. I hoped for better at this price.
Great Cables February 7, 2003 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought these for my dvd player. They work wonderfully! The old analog cables that came with the dvd player looked alright but [didn't measure up}. These monster cables definately enhance the sound of my dvd movies, especially the dialogue. The old cables that I had made my movies sound a bit muffled. But the monster cables intensified the clarity from the dvd player to my reciever. For those of us who cannot afford 5 speaker digital surround sound, I would definately recommend these cables if you use regular 2 channel stereo for your movies or CDs.
