Bike Air Horn August 15, 2008 Delta makes a great product, good quality materials, and the sound, three settings and can really scare the dogs. This Get's the attention of the wayward driver who is not paying attention or is otherwise distracted. I would recommend this item.
bike horn August 14, 2008 works great, very loud, only problem is the piece where the horn is attached to handle bar, the circle piece is small so people with thick handle bars, it may not fit. i had remove my grip tape on my handle bar to attach the bike horn in the location i wanted.
Great for the roads July 28, 2008 This horn is just as loud as you need it when you are riding on the roads. It may be useless in some countries, but in Georgia this is a "must have" horn. This horn makes impudent drivers (who are the majority in Georgia) to follow the traffic regulations in contrast to traffic lights. The loudness regulator is not easy to use, but for me this is not an issue. I'm not going to use this horn on the sidewalks anyway.
Cars WILL hear you! July 25, 2008 I am a daily bike commuter in a congested urban area. I bike smart and safe. I got one of these because I was sick of yelling at drivers (many of whom are on their mobiles) who don't stop at stop signs. #1 I don't like cursing and #2 they can't hear me anyway. Those little ding ding bike bells are worthless. This horn is LOUD. When it's full, it sounds like the horn on a semi. In my experience, drivers PAY ATTENTION when you honk this baby. They may not know at first where the sound is coming from but they usually stop. I fill it up every couple of days with my bike pump and I'm good to go. I've also never had an issue with anyone taking it off my bike when I lock it up (although my husband finally got his stolen after 4+ years). The ONLY complaint I have (and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars) is because the mount should be made of something stronger than plastic - on both mine and my husband's, a part of the mount broke after a very short time; we ended up just rigging it up with a strong rubber band and that seems to work fine.
nice and loud July 15, 2008 Plus: volume. Minus: designed for straight handle bars not drop bars. A must have for any cyclist who has to fend off clueless car drivers. Car drivers don't seem to realize that cyclists are traveling anywhere from 10 - 30 mph and therefore always seem to think they can make a turn in front of you. Well, not anymore if you got this horn. If one of these unconscious drivers looks like they might cut you off just give them a little toot and they'll be frozen in their tracks. As far as the other comments about pedestrians; pedestrians always have the right of way (on the streets and the trails) so do a little positive PR for cycling as a sport and stop for them, smile, say hi and then proceed.
