Decent watch with some issues August 21, 2008 I just replaced my battery after 10 months owning this watch. I was going to buy a Casio Pathfinder weather watch today on Amazon but decided to replace the battery in my Suunto. The things I do not like about this watch is that the display is hard to read in dim light. The back light helps but it is not as clear as a Casio. Also, compared to the Casio Pathfinder, this watch requires multiple button pushes to switch from barometer to altitude where as the Casio is a one touch. The big difference between Suunto and Casio weather/altitude watches is size. The Casio is a big mother compared to this Sunnto Core. The Core is big but very flat and does not sit to high on your wrist where as the Casio looks like a radio on your arm. Gets caught on your shirt when you put your arm in. Also, another thing about this yellow Suunto, it looks great. Sleek and elegant. I get a lot of compliments on it. The weather alarm is very cool. Sounds when the pressure drops to a certain point and is usually right on for changing weather. I just wish I would have bought mine on Amazon. I went through Suunto and paid full price. Amazon always has the best price. If you are going to buy this watch, buy the one with the white background. It will make it easier to see. 4 star watch. Almost a 5.
great August 11, 2008 does everything you could ask for. not too bulky while still being packed with features. great buy.
Superb!!! August 4, 2008 This watch is fantastic, I love it!! I owned for like about a month and can stop loving it.
good wtach for the price July 28, 2008 I was using SUUNTO X lander before I purchased this. They have made a quite good progress on the Core model I think. I really liked especially the menus and the build quality.
I'm satisfied ! July 17, 2008 I am a Suunto fan and purchased this Core after my old Vector bit the dust on a recent dive trip. Must have pinched the O ring after the last battery change. I use these watches for my outdoor stuff and this one offers the same useful features that the Vector sported as well as a few new cool features. I find the Cores menu a little easier to navigate and the ABC features easier to utilize and put into action. Watch looks good, even on my small wrist and has performed flawlessly so far. It is everything that I expected and if it matches the Vectors durability then it qualifies to be one great watch at a great price. The display is not as visible as the positive displays on some of the other Core models but I find it functional. The only real nit that I have with this watch is the audio level of the alarm - I am concerned that it's not going to break me out of a deep sleep one morning! Otherwise - I'm a happy Suunto customer, again!
