The Klean Kanteen 12oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle is excellent for little ones learning how to drink on their own. Pick your style cap. Having an insulated tote is key as it keeps their little hands warm and the beverage warm or cold - whichever you prefer. You may machine wash the Neoprene totes and put the bottles in the dishwasher. However, I have found that hand washing both works much better. The dishwasher cannot get into the Kanteens very well. Buy a bottle washing brush at your grocery store. After several months of owning a 27oz bottle with this cap, I wondered why the beverage tasted funny, here when I put it in the sink to wash it, the cap would suck in soapy water. I ended up drilling some holes in the bottom and could not believe all the soapy water that came out. I will now stick with the drinkable caps at least I know nothing is going to spoil my beverage.
