Amazon.com Product Description
The Bag Boy Navigator Remote Control Golf Cart is designed to make golfing a little easier. Loaded with adjustable features, such as the multi-position handle, high-strength aluminum bag brackets, and lower bag bracket, the Navigator is built to fit almost any bag. Built to last, this golf cart has a solid rubber handle, and is constructed of high modulus, ultra-lightweight aluminum tubing.

The Navigator's most impressive feature is the remote control mobility. The handle mounted controls and included remote control make it easy to steer you bag as you walk the links. The 34 amp dry cell battery with cover comes equipped with its own charger, and the twin calibrated 140-watt motors offer plenty of power. This remote control cart provides easy rolling with high-tech, rust-proof aluminum wheels with steel ball bearings, 360-degree front swivel wheel with suspension system, and maintenance free 12-inch tires. And for a little added security, the Navigator features a retractable fourth wheel stabilizer. Last but not least, this cart is built with a five level battery strength indicator so you'll never unexpectedly run out of juice.

About Bag Boy
The first Bag Boy cart was designed and made by Bruce Williamson in Portland, Oregon in 1945. The original golf cart was made out of two lawn mower wheels with flat tires mounted on an up-and-down folding, spring-suspension chassis, which could be attached to a standard golf bag. Following this original concept, Bruce Williamson and his partner, E. Roy Jarman formed the Jarman-Williamson Company in 1946 and manufactured these basic carts from sand castings and aluminum tubing. To make the cart last longer and keep it free from expensive repairs, all the parts were designed to be bolted together making it possible to easily replace damaged parts. Die-castings were introduced into the manufacturing process in 1947 and round-shaped zero pressure tires on dish wheels were added to the up-and-down folding chassis mechanism.

In 1957, Bruce Williamson sold his interest to Roy Jarman, but the company name was retained until 1967 when it was changed to The Jarman Company. By then, the company was marketing its own golf bag, the Cart-Mate, which was designed to attach to the Bag Boy cart by means of a few part changes. With continuous improvement in both design and methods in all products and procedures, the Bag Boy Company had grown to be international in scope. In 1993, AMF Industries bought The Bag Boy Company and relocated it to Richmond, Virginia making it a division of The Ben Hogan Company. When the Hogan Company was sold to Spalding in 1997, a small group of managers and employees, along with the current owner, held The Bag Boy Company out of the sale to run as a stand alone company.

2 out of 5 stars MGI has extra features   January 14, 2008

I own the MGI Navigator, and you may think this is the Licoln Navigator but the MGI is the Bently.

It has a seat with compartment, a sand bucket for filling your divots, a holder for your umbrella, best of all, when you are on a side hill it does not follow the slope of the hill but rather stays straight on course. Mine does have the solid wheels and yes, pins. If you don't run it into things the pins will last for a very long time and all carts will have the battery issue. That's a battery issue not a cart issue.
I have had several remote caddies, and this is tops, don't see how the bag boy can beat it.

I am retired, play golf in Palm Desert for 7 months of the year 5 days a week and have NO affliation with MGI just think it's the best!

Excellent product. Appears to be very well made and I love the Navigator technology. Folds easily. It's extremely quiet compared to my friends' motorized carts. While it needs a little help up and down bigger hills, it makes walking so much more enjoyable.

4 out of 5 stars Bag Boy Navigator   February 7, 2007

A very good remote controlled golf cart, the sending unit could be designed a little better, the control buttons are too close together, and the navigator on/off buttons are in the wrong location. The unit can be set up very quickly, and performs great.

4 out of 5 stars I own it's twin sister, the MGI   August 5, 2006

I have owned the MGI Navigator which is the sister to the Bag Boy. They are made in Australia, and I've been told that the MGI is a Ford Explorer but the Bag Boy is the Lincoln Navigator..quite a step up.

I love my MGi, but I've had a few issues that have warranted concern. The air tires which have since been redesigned were poorly thought out. They have these pins that control the direction and the pins would break, usually during the middle of a tournament or round and I'd have to get a "tow" back to the club house, or if I was lucky, jimmy the broken pin out of the slot and insert a new one. Usually, however, I wasn't so lucky. They have since designed a new wheel, but it's not been available for the US customers for some odd reason, and supposedly, I'm to receive the new tires once they are shipped from Australia.
The battery most definitely must be fully charged between rounds and you'll only get 18 holes out of one charge. That sounds fine for most golfer, but we've ventured out without a fully charged battery, and when it's dead..it's dead. The cart can be set to free wheel, but the battery makes it very heavy to push or pull.

The service on the cart has been great. I can't say enough about the US service rep who is more than accessible and answers all questions instantly.

I do love mY MGI, and it frees me up to concentrate on my golf. I am considering moving up to the Bag Boy, but am waiting a few months since they are so new and might have some breaking "in" to do.

These are pricey, but worth the $$.
