Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
What's the accuracy rate of Omron pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended each day. The HJ-151 Pedometer separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace.
What are aerobic steps?
The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer separately displays aerobic steps and minutes that start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking with more than 60 steps a minute.
How does the PC software work?
The HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer includes PC software for Windows 2000 or XP. It keeps track of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly progress.

 works great July 24, 2008
much better than any other pedometer I've owned--and I've owned several. Being able to put it in a pocket or a purse is a real plus, and it's the first pedometer I've owned that is actually accurate.

I had cheaper versions before and would count steps when driving in the car or similar situations hen no activity was performend on my part.
This unit bulckier than cheap once will count steps that are real steps. It ill not let you cheat. It makes me walk more not less. How much more? not much, none if you really walk and move around.
I Really Love and Use this Pedometer July 23, 2008
I bought this for myself in January, and have worn it every single day since I put it on the first time. I don't know about EXACT measurements, but it certainly gives me a goal each day of 10,000 steps, it keeps a record, and has been very dependable. The strap is essential. The little clip on the strap broke, so now I use a safety pin to attach the strap to my waist band. I would have lost this pedometer a long, long time ago without this extra strap and clip. I just love the different modes, and the way it keeps 7 days history. I cannot say enough good things about this pedometer. I am going to give it to my children for Christmas, and have given it to friends as a birthday gift.
Great gift for your girlfriends July 21, 2008
I bought one of these for myself and two for two of my female co-worker friends. We absolutely love them, they are very accurate. Unlike the cheap ones where every little shake and it counts it as a step, this is a very smart pedometer. We all wear them everyday and it helps motivate each other by comparing steps and miles walked each day. Before this purchase we walked a couple days a week, now we do not miss a day for it records your slack in the 7-day pedometor history.
The best part is that you do not have to touch anything for it to work, just clip it on, there is no on/off and if you accurately have the date/time set on it that is all you need to keep track of your miles, calories burnt, steps and aerobic steps per day.

This pedometer works way better than the cheap one I had before. I wear it on my treadmill which also tells me the steps and they're almost the same so it's a good indiciation that this is accurate.
