A great set of working headphones September 8, 2008 I bought these headphones to wear while running farm equipment. I use a Ford Utility Tractor while bush hogging and found that after many hours of working I needed something that would allow me to listen to prerecorded books. The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones worked right out of the box. I worked over 8 hours and barely could hear the loud tractor while listening to books, both audio.com and MP3 formats. I also was able to listen to music and talk radio from XM. I like the over the ear style of the ATH-ANC7. The ATH-ANC7 shows itself to be of excellent quality and for the price it is a real value. I highly recommend these to anyone who is working in a loud environment and still wants to listen to an electronic device.
Very good overall and superb value September 7, 2008 I'm very pleased with these headphones. They sound good and are comfortable enough to wear for hours. I like the solid construction. In terms of pressure on the ear due to active noise cancellation, I found them much more comfortable than a friend's QC2 phones.
After reading reviews, it sounded like sound leakage was the weak point for this product. This worried me, as I wanted to use them in my cubicle without annoying my officemates. I'm happy to report this is a complete non-issue for me at the sound levels I play music.
I'm completely happy with these headphones. They're underpriced. This is the first product that has inspired me to contribute a review.
great noise canceling headset for a good price September 7, 2008 I purchased these for their noise canceling feature and so far I have been very impressed. I have been using these on airplane trips and while using a riding lawn tracker and they do a great job of noise reduction and worked just as well as the much more expensive Bose quitecomfort 2 I have also used. The audio capability of these headsets are also exceptional; lots of musical detail can be heard even in a noisy environment. The headsets also pass music when the battery is dead - albiet at a lower volume - so you will never be left with a dead headset when you battery goes dead, unlike the Bose. These are well worth their price and are made of high quality material and come with a very sturdy case that travels well.
Great for iphone September 6, 2008 I love this headset. Best value. I spend a lot of time researching noise-cancellation headset for traveling with my iPhone. Primarily, I was comparing between Bose Comfort 3, Bose Comfort 2, and Dr. Dre Beats. Originally, I was leaning toward Bose Comfort 3 because of its compact size. But it was difficult to justify the price. When comparing the quality of the noise cancellation, I thought ATH-ANC7 had a slight edge. Dr. Dre was the most comfortable. ATH-ANC7 was a close second. I finally went with ATH-ANC7 because the value/price ratio was the best. The only down-side is that it does not come with a iphone compatible microphone/adapter. Fortunately, my son bought Dr. Dre Beats which the comes with a iphone microphone wire that was compatible with ATH-ANC7. So I took it for my own use. Worked out excellent for my iPhone. One key feature I liked is that I can still listen to music even without power. ATH-ANC7 is still bulky for travel. But I cannot find a better value.
Must Have For Long Flights September 5, 2008 I searched and read countless reviews on all types of "noise canceling headsets" including Bose. One site would praise an item, the next would blast the same one. I found the most consistent praise for the ATH-ANC7. I purchased them for a long flight to China. I was very pleased. These headsets do what they are intended for....keep the noise to a tolerable level even when used alone. Once I plugged in my iPod or DVD player.....I was isolated from those around me. The sound quality is very good for the price. I did hear some faint distortion....but for the price....I can't imagine there is any better.
Bottom line....if I lost these...I would buy another pair.
