Good Idea, Bad Implementation October 7, 2008 This phone was a real disappointment. We bought it so that we could find our child in the case of an emergency. The day that we actually needed to find our child, the gps showed him in another town 5 miles from our house!! He was in fact, 2 blocks away from our house. Second, the battery for the phone only held it's charge for a few hours (this is brand new out of the box). And third, it is extremely difficult to speak to someone in person at Wherify customer service. This has been a real waste of money.
Wherify out of business? June 11, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
My son received a Wherifone from his grandparents. However, when we called to activate the phone all of the company's phone lines listed in the package literature and on their web site were not in service or disconnected.
Sounds to me like they have gone belly up. We were very disappointed as we never even got a chance to use the device.
Wherify Cell Phone/GPS Good Investment February 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Purchased this phone via internet for my handicapped son, and when it arrived we thought it was very small, but surprised to find it worked just fine. The set-up was a little confusing and customer service isn't always available to help. But once we got going...all was well.

The phone itself is easy to use and easy to program via the Wherify Web site. The phone is very small and light weight. The limited buttons to call are perfect for an intended use with older parents that need a simple way to contact someone in an emergency and to have a way to find them if need be! Getting the phone activated by Wherfy takes a day or so. You are able to find the location of the phone via the Web in a minute or so. It has an aerial view of the location using satellite photos also!
Warning, You can buy, but you won't be able to activate! May 22, 2007 19 out of 23 found this review helpful
We saw this on the View, and thought what a terrific produt for our son. Unfortunately, you can't reach the company to turn on the phone. All you get is a message that repeats at 8am or 5 pm, what a rip off! We returned to Amazon after spending a week calling them at all times of the day.
