Very Satisfied May 15, 2008 puchased a month ago... I wanted an inexpensive lens to try out before investing in more expensive lenses. Took it to Hawaii and have used it for outdoor sporting events. Focuses well and fairly quickly. Pictures are sharply focused. A terrific lens for the price.
Awesome lens a a great price.... May 9, 2008 I really love this lens, its gives great images and the Vibration Reduction is a dream. I do a lot of nature photography and its great for stationary objects. It's kinda slow on the auto-focus so I wouldn't recommends it for wildlife or sports unless you are using manual focus. Vibratiion Reduction allows you to get picture's at almost 3 steps lower with no blur (Awesome in low light situations) There are better lens's, but for the money its well worth it
Nikon 55-200 f/4-4.5 ED IF AF-S DX VR Zoom Nikkor Lens May 2, 2008 Excellent lens at a great price. Love the small size. Until they make a smaller one, this is pretty much the perfect "walk around" lens for my D70s.
Nice lens for the money. April 30, 2008 This lens makes a great companion for the D40 and it's 18-55mm kit lens. When you consider that the Nikon 70-300mm with comparable maximum aperture would set you back over twice what this little gem costs, it's sort of a no-brainer for the average amateur.
Great Lens April 27, 2008 I bought this lens for my Nikon D40. I'm very impressed. It's so much better than the lens which came with the camera, even in low light situations. The vibration reduction makes it easy to handhold. I've also been using it to take close-up pictures of flowers as I can't really afford to buy a whole bunch of lens. It takes a little creative thinking on how to use it to get the shot I want, but it does the job.
