Amazon.com Product Description Combining stylish looks with power sport timing and heart rate monitoring features, this mid-sized Timex Digital Fitness watch (model T5J031) can be worn by both men and women. It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, durable resin case, and comfortable resin strap with a stylish tapered profile. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to track your avareage heart rate and pre-set target heart rate zones with data for time spent within that zone and alarms. It can also display data for calories burned and offers a recovery timer that measures your heart rate after a timed recovery during or after your workout. Sport timing features include: - 100-hour chronograph with lap and split, either in large digits
- 27-lap memory with average heart rate per laps
- 100-hour countdown timer
- Alarm with 5-minute backup
- Month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time
- 3.5-year battery life
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.
Product Description From Timex arrives the ultimate training partner for health and fitness enthusiasts alike. Input your target fitness heartrate zone and you will be kept on course with audible alert and visual in-zone indication on screen. The 27-lap memoryrecall and calorie expenditure mean this is the ultimate for heart rate training both during and after workout. This Timex watch gives the user heart rate analysis for one session by displaying minimum, average and peak heart rate, arguably the most important factors of each training session. Heart rate can either be viewed as percentage of maximum heart rate or simply by the heart rate beats per minute. Digital transmission allows the user to train in a gym environment within close proximity to other heart rate monitor users without experiencing any interference. With a heart rate monitor using analog transmission, it is possible that the user may have inaccurate readings of heart rate. Crossover interference is when the signals for two or more heart rate transmitters interfere with each other. The Target Fitness Heart Rate Monitor allows you to train without being interrupted. The user also has the option to download the heart rate data to a PC by purchasing the Timex Data Recorder 2. This is a software package solution that can assist data control of fitness progression over time. Features: Time and date, Chronograph with lap and split, One top pusher for mindless lap and split, 27-Lap memory recall, Countdown stop timer, 1-Alarm, INDIGLO night-light, Water-resistant 30m, Workout summary mode, Calorie expenditure, Digital transmission signal, Recalls minimum, average and peak heart rate, View heart rate as % Max or Beats per minute (BPM), 5-Auto and 1-manual heart rate zones with Time-in-zone recall, Recovery zone, Audible and pointer zone alert, Owner replaceable battery on chest strap, Data Recorder 2 compatible

Very Very good product July 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Friends, I did lot of research before purchasing this product. And i was not disappointed. This is a very good product. I am using this watch as regular watch and put on the chest strap while exercising. This is a exceptional product. I tried the strapless product in walmart and it really scared me. I would suggest this product to anybody who is looking for heartrate monitor.
Thanks, Krishna Peri
Perfect! June 25, 2008 "Order was processed the very same day it was ordered. Very informative about order status via emails. Good shopping experience with this site."
Good to Go June 19, 2008 Everything I expected and more. I've used it constantly since I bought it and I have no complaints. I thought there was a problem with the heart rate function until I realized that I didn't have the chest strap on, Duhhh. Good product, worth the money.
Nice Monitor, Nice Everyday Watch June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After researching several HR writst monitors, I decided on the T5J031 for the following reasons: (1) the face is large enough to read without straining while exercising, (2) it's lightweight, (3) it has many features, and alerts when moving into/out of the different burn levels, (4) my everyday watch broke, and this monitor is also a watch, (5) the price was not outrageous, and (6) it's made by Timex. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
Great Running Assistant June 14, 2008 Pros: It does everything I think that it should do. and it looks like a normal enough watch that you could use it anytime you wanted a less formal watch.
Cons: I like to see where I am in the zone sometimes as well as my time, and sometimes I want to see my heart rate and my time, but you have to press the button like 5 times to switch between them. this is kind of annoying, but they clearly can't fit all that information on the screen without making it huge and I like that you can see any combination of 2 pieces of information.
I think that it is great, but I have never used a HRM before, and have nothing to compare it too, but I would recommend it to anyone who was looking to get one.
