Product Description
This "flight" version of a Swissbit MP3 digital audio player does not include Swiss Army Knife tools in its silver-metal housing so it can pass airport-security checks intact. The three-inch-long audio player stores up to 1 GB of MP3, WMA, WAV, or OGG Vorbis sound files and also includes a stereo FM radio with recording capability.

The audio player plugs into any Windows or Macintosh computer with a USB port and also can be used to transport images and other data. Its lithium battery recharges automatically whenever the audio player is connected to a USB interface and lasts up to eight hours. A fetching remote control displaying the Swiss Army Knife's famed Swiss-flag logo of white cross against a red background has two earphone jacks. About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Cool idea, but hard to use   September 19, 2007
The Swissbeat is a clever idea, combining a few useful tools with data storage and MP3 capability. The ability to separate the player from the tool holder is great for travel. However, the menus and single-button control are frustrating to say the least, especially for programming the FM radio. The FM is mono only, I've never been able to receive in stereo, even when signal strength is optimum.

4 out of 5 stars Small and practical item   January 18, 2007

Great product.. bring a remote control, arm strap, easy to used, Nice usefully menu and software, it can turn of by it self, cheap comparing with an apple shuffle, i find the battery only take 8 hours playing it`s a less time for me :), but itsn`t a problem, I DON`t like the FM radio it`s poor you need to stay in a place to find a great fm station, but that it`s in my country, i don`t know if works better in your country. that`s the only i don`t like, everything it`s great...
