3 out of 5 stars Almost...   September 6, 2008
This product is acceptable, but could easily have been great. It's an update on the Trimline design for the Caller ID era. We don't use Caller ID, so I can't address those features, just the basic operation and styling of this last-of-the-corded-phones.

Styling?
Almost...
The handset is fine, but the base is clearly taller and clunkier than it needs to be.

Operation?
Almost...
While voice quality is generally good, the background noise level is fair at best. And this phone doesn't like it when another phone is off-hook (to allow two people to share a conversation). When you join a conversation from one of our two cordless phones, this one begins to click rhythmically and you can no longer hear the conversation.

2 out of 5 stars BEWARE - The Caller ID might not work   September 4, 2008
Inexpensive phone with good sound quality. Base is oddly high (almost three inches).

*** The caller ID just doesn't work. *** I have other phones with caller ID on the same line which work fine. Then I see in the manual:

"This product meets the applicable Industry Canada technical specifications" (a hint this might not be best for a US customer) and then:
"You may need to change your telephone service plan to enjoy this [the caller ID] feature. Contact your telephone service provider if:
-- You have both caller ID and call waiting, but as separate services (you may need combined service)
OR -- You have only caller ID service, or only call waiting service, but not both."

I have both caller ID and call waiting and have no idea whether they're "separate" - it's a standard AT&T residential phone plan. It's hard to believe trying to talk to AT&T about this nonsense would be fruitful, and I sure bet it would be time consuming.

Would have been a great deal if the caller ID had worked out of the box.

2 out of 5 stars disappointed in seller   August 28, 2008

I wanted to cancel this order when it became apparent it could not be combined with my other order. I did not want to pay multiple shipping fees. I recieved a message to late order pulled and in shipping process. This was all done on a Sunday and the order was not shipped until the following Tuesday. Sad way to do business that no one is availble to stop this order days before it shipped.

5 out of 5 stars good phone right price   August 27, 2008
If your looking for a basic desk phone, caller ID, this is the one. Does the job at a great price.

1 out of 5 stars very disappointed   August 20, 2008
We were looking for a new phone to replace our old one that no longer worked after 20+ years. The phone claims to have caller id, but whenever a call comes in there is no information available to view before picking up the phone. Also, this phone claims to be "wall mountable". I mounted it to the wall (where the old one was), put the receiver on and the receiver wouldn't stay. This is a very disappointing product from at&t. They don't make them like they used to. We'll be lucky to get a year out of this phone.
