Product Description The classical advantages of rechargeable batteries are: high performance, especially if high discharge currents are required ( like in digital cameras ) cheap in use, because they can be recharged many times; environmental friendly, because one rechargeable battery replaces 1000 disposable batteries; good performance at low temperatures. A special feature found in eneloop batteries from Sanyo is an extremely efficient (low) dormant discharge rate. That means, when not used, the charge is retained for long periods. Of course you (and we) recommend using these batteries over and over/ Just in case you don't, you can be assured the battery will retain up to 85% of its charge over the course of a year.Because the eneloop has a very low self-discharge, SANYO can ship the batteries in a charged state so they're ready to use out of the pack. In contrast to a disposable battery the eneloop can be charged 1000 times. This saves the environment and your purse. Thus one eneloop saves the waste of 999 disposable batteries. Even if you consider the slightly higher cost of the eneloop compared to a disposable battery and add the cost for the charger and the energy consumed by the charger, the investment for one eneloop returns easily after a few charging cycles. Imagine how much money you have spent for batteries in your life. Now there is an end to this spending!

Best rechargeable batteries October 12, 2008 I found these over a year ago for my company and now we have 50 set for 50 photographers in the field. The best part is slow discharge when stored! They work great with Nikon Speedlights, SB600 and SB800! The recycle fast and more frequently than alkaline batteries.
These batteries are UNBELIEVABLE! October 12, 2008 I used these in my son's radio controlled car. Regular Duracell AA batteries used to last no more than an hour in that car. I've been using these batteries for 3 days now, probably 3-4 hours of use and they show no signs of requiring a recharge yet! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Good Batteries October 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've only had these batteries for about 2 weeks and they've exceeded expectation. I use a Sony ICD-P520 Voice Recorder everyday to record about 3 hours of lecture. I usually have to change out a pair of regular Alkaline Batteries after about 12 hours (4 days) of usage. These Eneloops have lasted just as long as Alkaline Batteries, maybe a little longer, WITH the additional aspect that they are rechargeable. Highly recommend these batteries for those who use AAA frequently; they will pay for themselves after a couple charges.
Great rechargable batteries October 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These batteries work well and come pre-charged as described. Because they don't lose their charge when not in use as quickly, they can be used in other devices that you normally wouldn't use rechargeable batteries with, like led flashlights and wall clocks. They work great for everything that takes AA batteries. After a few charges you've already saved the purchase price by not using alkalines'.
GREAT! October 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
