| Editorial Reviews:
Description Rallying from a seemingly insurmountable deficit, the United States team pulled off the greatest comeback in history to reclaim the Cup in a stirring performance that capped off one of golf's most memorable years. The U.S. team led by Ben Crenshaw, included such greats as Tiger Woods, Justin Leonard, David Duval and Payne Stewart in what became one of his last tournaments before his death. Includes all the highlights, pre- and post-match interviews with the team members and captains, a section on Ryder Cup history and a feature on both teams.

Great coverage - great golf - but... June 12, 2004 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
the only thing that rankles with me is J. leonard's moment of 'winning' - he and the entire team doing a lap of honor of the green - though his opponent hadn't finished and was left looking bemused and no doubt irritated at the childish behaviour he was witnissing, because in fact we hadn't yet won. That sort of behaviour maybe ok for the NFL and some other sports - but it the opposite of the spirit of the game. It's those few moments of hysteria that spoil the victory for me.
KNOW THE OUTCOME? IT'S STILL WORTH SEEING AGAIN! March 3, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When this one was playing out I was traveling overseas and had to keep track of the matches in bits and pieces as I was able to find them. At one point the US team was so far behind that I pretty much resolved in my mind that it was all over for them. And then magic happened. Coming from behind, the US team accomplished the impossible and staged arguably the greatest comeback in the history of the Ryder Cup (perhaps in any sport, for that matter) to reclaim the Ryder Cup. Ben Crenshaw led the U.S. team. His comments to the press on the final day of the matches are worth seeing again all by themselves. This DVD is spectacular and includes the play of some of the greatest golfers the US has ever produced including Tiger Woods, Justin Leonard, David Duval and Payne Stewart. Stewart's presence here is especially poignant in that these Ryder Cup matches were the culminating goal for the year and would became, really, his last appearance before his tragic death. A sensational competition, Ryder Cup 1999 will be the standard against which all others are measured. Even though I know the outcome I can't see this one enough. It's great to see it again in a Ryder Cup year and every year. THE HORSEMAN

This Ryder Cup was truly the greatest golf Tournament that I have ever seen. I remember watcing the NBC coverage, and I truly felt that the US couldn't come back. The way they did it was truly unbelievable. I was so happy to here that there was a DVD coming out on the event and went it was released, I immediately bought it. The DVD truly allows you to see how remarkable a comeback it was. It was undoubtedly a comeback for the ages. A must for every fan of U.S. Golf
