A superb show that should not be missed! July 12, 2008 CG is an exceptionally dry and sarcastic show that plays a lot like Northern Exposure (but as a 24 minute comedy). While, I'm sure some will be puzzled by it's sardonic humor and lack of a laugh track to tell them where to laugh.... those who enjoy the likes of Arrested Development, News Radio, Action, Kids in the Hall, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. will probably love this show. Season one's highlights include some of the BEST CG's ever made. One of my particular favorites is "Tax Man" with KITH's Kevin Macdonald bringing all his comedic talents to "A" taxman (not "the" taxman :-). "World's Biggest Thing" demonstrates the talent of the supporting cast, especially Cavan Cunningham as Fitzy (that face!). "Grad 68" plays well on the CSI craze and is the first episode where I really appreciated Davis. In any case... don't let anything keep you from experiencing this gem. At the very least, check out a few episodes on WGN and see what you think. Best yet... the show doesn't really hit its stride until seasons 2 and 3... so if season 1's good for you, just wait until you get into the later seasons!
See you behind the surveillance bush... Car 1 out. :-)
I love this show! June 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Tivo it, buy it, rent it, download it - however you see it - see it! It's just so warm and whimsical and funny and charming...it's a little off kilter and entirely endearing and when it's over you think "I wish there were a Dog River and so I could move there!" ...the season price is a little rich for my blood - but I'll keep an eye on it. If you get a chance - watch this show!

I love this show! The humor is a bit dry but it is a wonderful show that anyone could watch! It's just good, clean fun!

My husband and I saw the pilot episode of Corner Gas back in 2004 while we were on our honeymoon in Niagara Falls. We laughed our butts off! For our third anniversary this year, I decided to see if I could track down the show, whose name we didn't recall, as a surprise for him. We're now halfway through Season 2, have Season 3 waiting in the wings, and already pre-ordered Season 4.
We have been stumped a few times by "inside" references, but hey, that's what Google is for! What a great show. We love the quirky dialogue and sight gags. Can't wait for Season 5 to make it to us on DVD!
Great! August 10, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I stumbled upon Corner Gas one Monday night, flipping through the channels with nothing to watch. I settled on Corner Gas, since my friend said that it was funny. It was "American in Saskatchewan" and it was hilarious. Every Monday night after that we sit down to watch Corner Gas. I can't wait for Season Four!
