Fabulous Workout! June 22, 2008 This workout works every muscle in your body...you will be feeling it after you're done. Also, this dvd has the toughest ab routing I've ever done, and I have over 40 workouts. Tina gives friendly and prompt instruction, and the music is energizing and fun. If you're just starting out, dont put a lot of air in the disk at first. The only issues I have with this kit is the flimsy pump needle, and the fact that the music is off beat with the moves;it was some kind of production error.
Not really worth it May 29, 2008 I have been a FIRMie since 1996 and do not care for this video. Now, it does challenge your balance and the ab section at the end is good, but it's not challenging enough for advanced exercisers, in my opinion. Like I said, if you want to challenge your balance this is a good one to get, otherwise, pass.
Disappointed..... May 15, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been working out with The FIRM products for almost 3 years now. I was HUGELY disappointed in the Balance Trainer workout DVD, however.
My first frustration is that whoever directed or edited this DVD chose not to show full body shots, INCLUDING THE FOOTWORK (which is critical), on this workout. Many times I was unable to get back in step, also, because Tina's direction was SO POOR and the steps were not choreographed to match the beat to the music.
I will probably continue to use the workout, but I may just fast forward to the abs / floor workout components which were quite challenging.
Huge disappointment, as I said.
Innovative core exercise & great alternative to BOSU! May 4, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After my ACL knee surgery several years ago, I completed physical therapy using balance training. Most of my leg work was performed on the balance ball and the BOSU, which consists of half a balance ball mounted into a stable base. I really enjoyed this training, and continued these workouts after the successful completion of my therapy.
I moved to a house with a low basement ceiling a few years ago, and could not continue my balance training on the BOSU because of the low ceiling which prevented me from performing jumps and leaps. Just last week, I found The Firm's Balance Training Kit on [...] by luck, and ordered it right away.
The trainer on this DVD provides a face-paced workout that is confusing at first, but I don't mind this because I can improve and not become easily bored with the routines. The exercise segments have several stopping points, so I can chose a workout duration to fit my available time. What amazes me about this workout is that the trainer performs so many core exercises I had not imagined could be adapted to this compact balance platform. By the time I have completed this DVD workout, I have exerted muscles throughout my entire body!
I believe that this small balance platform is ideal for beginners because it is not as high as a BOSU, so there is less fear of falling. This is a very portable training tool. I can slip it into my luggage, along with the DVD, to keep fit during my travels.
Don't let this meek little rubber balloon intimidate you! The balance trainer will help to tone your legs and abs. Enjoy!
This workout will challenge you! April 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This workout is awesome! I'm in pretty good shape (I work out 5-6 days/week cardio and weights) and I found it to be challenging. Challenging but fun. I enjoy the moves and I am looking forward to getting stronger and achieving better balance. Some reviews I've read said that the music was a little off, but I found that I didn't notice that at all. FYI the more air you pump air into it, the harder it is. Also, I work out on hard wood floors and the balance disc doesn't skid at all. Don't know how it does on carpet. Really works your abs.
