From Penang it's a quick hour flight to Pulau Langkawi, one of 104 islands at the northern end of Malaysia on the border with Thailand. Langkawi means Great Eagle and refers to the island being the home of Garuda, a mythical bird. It's just one of many legends that thrive in Langkawi.
