Editorial Reviews:

Description
World-renowned golf instructor Jim McLean teams up with golf star Sam Snead and sports psychologist Dr. Fran Pirozzolo to analyze every aspect of Snead's legendary swing. The program includes The Golf Channel's exclusive 40-minute profile of Sam Snead's life and career.

There's no doubt that Sam Snead was one of the greatest golfers of all time, and many who play the game could learn from his example. Snead's prime, however, was decades ago, and most of today's enthusiasts of the game have only read about his swing, which experts have generally considered one of the best in the game. This instructional video takes an innovative approach, using vintage film of Snead combined with modern computer graphics to illustrate how Snead's timeless technique can be learned by today's golfers. Though the vintage films provide a framework for this video, noted teaching pro Jim McLean, a former PGA Teacher of the Year, also teams up with Snead to deliver lessons recorded in the modern era. Sitting in Snead's trophy room, the two discuss technique (with Snead occasionally rising up out of his chair to energetically demonstrate a grip or a stance), and out on the course Snead and McLean provide detailed lessons on what should be the most graceful move in sports--swinging a golf club. Snead doesn't skimp on the commentary, and included in his generous comments about precise features of the golf swing are enough tips and pointers to keep a serious student of the game involved for quite some time. A bonus biographical film on Snead follows the lessons on this video. --Robert J. McNamara
