Editorial Reviews:

Description
It has been called the greatest Ryder Cup in history and surely none of the tens of thousands present at The K Club, or the one billion people watching the event live on TV would disagree!

For noise, passion and emotion, The 36th Ryder Cup, played for the first time in Ireland, is unmatched. Europe, with arguably their finest team performance ever, made history by winning the Samuel Ryder Trophy for a third consecutive time.

From the courageous Darren Clarke, who was carried along on a wave of home support, to the sensational Sergio Garcia and Colin Montgomerie, once more, the heartbeat of the European team, Captain Ian Woosnam had a dozen dynamic heroes. Just as at Oakland Hills, two years earlier, the American side were again overwhelmed by the record score of 18 points to 9.

As Tiger toiled on day one, it was Garcia who inspired the home side, and on day two, Paul Casey was the ace in the European pack with a hole in one, as Woosnam's elite surged 10-6 ahead.

Woods returned to form in the final day singles, but it was all too late for the USA as Monty led from the front and the scoreboard was soaked in European blue. "This one is for Heather!" declared home skip Woosie.

This dvd shows the highlights of an exciting and emotional Ryder Cup. Each Ryder Cup stands alone as it exemplifies the high emotion of team match play. The newest Spanish Armada - Olazabal and Garcia, the valiant play of Darren Clarke and the shared emotion from both America's team and the European team are featured. Behind-the-scenes adds to the enjoyment of this dvd.

5 out of 5 stars Irish Eyes Were Smiling!   January 19, 2007

As an Irishman living in the US, I cannot begin to decribe how emotional the 3 days of the 2006 Ryder Cup proved to be. With Darren Clarke wearing his emotions for all to see, with the Irish crowd carrying the European team along on a wave of euphoria and with the USA team unable to find an answer to what was happening all around them, this was surely the greatest Ryder Cup of them all. Hole-in-ones, chip-ins, high level sportsmanship and Guinness to celebrate on the balcony. This DVD of the events that unfolded at the K Club in County Kildare will take you there and back with a smile on your face and a tear in your eye. It was so good to see Paul Casey come out on top of the USA team member who took pleasure in belittling him after some misinterpreted comments a couple of years ago. I doubt any of the fans at the K Club even realised Ver-Plank was on the course! Bring on 2008!
