3 out of 5 stars All good things must have an end   November 21, 2008
I'm concerned and enthralled. I'm sadden that her love life keeps falling apart. I want her to be with Bill. How many times in life are we left without closure. I love the books so much that I was happy that i got sick and had to stay home from work. I read all the books in 4 days. It just cannot keep going on with her meeting the next guy. Bill loves her in a way that Eric (who i adore) cannot. Bill should be the one. I feel terrible even writing it, but he won me over when he was standing outside her door declaring "I Love You" which had not been done until then.

Where is that one great love of our life that movies and novels keep giving us? Why do we yearn for it so heavily? Bill should be with Sookie. But that's just my vote. PS this is account is listed under my husband :)

3 out of 5 stars Just okay   November 17, 2008
I only started reading the Sookie stories a little over a month ago, and I've already read all but one installment (number 5, I think). I've enjoyed myself immensely until this one. It was just okay, and I wish I had not spent the money on the hardcover. I find Sookies interactions with Eric the most entertaining, and that is what keeps me coming back most consistently. In those situations, Sookie's personality comes to life, it's just plain fun to be a fly on the wall during their conversations. There was a little of that here, but the plot seemed scattered. I didn't feel satisfied after finishing; it wasn't bad, just not up to expectations.

5 out of 5 stars Left me wanting more   November 16, 2008
I just finished From Dead to Worse and find myself really disappointed that I can't just go on to the next in this series - will have wait for the new release (May 2009?). The author does seem to be closing some chapters in Sookie's love life but I didn't get the impression that we had heard the last from Eric or Bill. Plenty of time spent in Bon Temps and Merlotte's; some new characters introduced and hopefully some old story lines put to rest. The ending opens up a new story line that could be very interesting. Gread addition to an entertaining series.

5 out of 5 stars If you love the series, you'll love this book.   November 11, 2008
I was recently pulled in after catching the HBO series. For some reason I avoided reading the books. I love the genre and can't believe that this series of books is at the top of my favorites now, I devoured all eight books in 2 weeks and actually want to start from the beginning and read them all over again. I think HBO did a great job with the character depiction, but I'm not overly thrilled with the depravity thats portrayed, the sex is ridiculously disgusting, not at all like the books, this series isn't like that, it has awesome characters, great dialog, not to mention the humor, it's a shame they have to rely so much on the shock factor to hook people in, I'm considering giving up the show, it's starting to ruin it a little bit.

Anyway, back to the book,Sookie is pulled in so many different directions, we're constantly on the edge of our seats. My Must Read authors include Kerrilyn Sparks, Nalini Sing, Kresley Cole, Lyndsay Sands, & Christine Feehan, so you know where my tastes lie. I won't rehash, but I will say a lot happens to all the previous characters, important new Characters are introduced, and you won't want to have missed it.

(Spoilers?) I believe the disappointment for most would have to be the fact that Sookie is basically done with all her previous male interests. She's relieved that things never went further with Alcide, regrets how far things did go with Quinn, Bill's still trying, she's still not buying. I'm still rooting for Eric, and she still has feelings for him, but nothing happens beyond a momentary brush of lips. So sure, we're reading romance here, I was hoping he'd come a knocking in the middle of the night at least once, well, Sookie gets none in this book. Be prepared, and you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Yet another great Sookie book!   November 10, 2008
Well, as usual, Ms. Harris has left me craving more! I bought this book the day it came out and read it cover to cover in less than 24 hours. I own the entire series and I'm waiting on pins and needles for the next installment in the series!

The Sookie books are full of humor, romance, and suspense... I always come back for more!

If you've enjoyed the other Sookie books, then you should definitely buy book #8, From Dead to Worse! While Ms. Harris seems to be hard at work on her Aurora TeaGarden series, I'm anxiously awaiting news about the Souther Vampire Series book #9. Hopefully she won't keep us waiting too long. :)
