Looks good but some parts don't fit my car April 30, 2007
I've used many Chilton books in the past, but this one was a disappointment. I set out to fix a faulty electric window motor on my 2001 Cabrio, only to find that none of the instructions and pictures in the manual simply match my car. Where the manual says "clips", I have hidden screws, etc etc et...
The book was essentially useless... :(

The book is very in depth for the amount of topics it covers. I have not actually used this book to repair anything yet so this review may not be as helpful as it could. The formatting and diagrams seem to be very easy to follow. For the price I would say you cannot go wrong.

This book is well written and covers things in detail. However, it does NOT cover the VR6 (2.8L) engine.

Handy VW manual! March 25, 2005

I've owned several different types of car manuals over the years, and although this is not the most technical, it has very useful information. I would say it is a MUST for anybody doing simple mechanic work like brake pads, fluid changes, etc. It even helps with more complex tasks like clutch plates and suspension work. For the price, I would definitely recommend it. Easy to read with LOTS of pictures.
