Product Description
At last, a book of crochet patterns devoted entirely to the plus-size woman!Plus-size gals are a group that seems to be neglected in the plethora of crochet books on the market. The author, Margaret Hubert, has often been approached at trade shows and through her classes by women in this size category, begging her to design patterns that would fit them. A plus-size crocheter cannot simply take a smaller pattern and increase the number of stitches or rows to get a garment that fits and flatters. There are lots of proportion considerations when designing patterns for larger sizes. Plus Size Crochet has 20 crocheted garments and accessories for plus-size women. The projects are stylish and flattering for various large figure types. There are also hints and tips to help the crocheter accommodate her special needs. - Only crochet book for plus-size women
- Similar to the books in our popular oHookedoe series: easy to use with lay-flat wire-o binding, stitch detail photos, project specs at a glance
- Includes crochet basics section with step-by-step photos

Finally, crochet for our sizes! September 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of the best crochet books I have ever purchased. As far as I know it is the only book with plus sized patterns for crochet, and one of those books where 99% of the patterns are excellent. The color choices are wonderful, as are the yarns, tho most of them are now no longer being made, always a problem, but still. I don't think there isn't one project in this book that you wouldn't want to make for yourself or someone else. Being a visual person, pictures are always the best plus of all so that you can see the projects the author has done, as well as knowing the skill levels. I wish the coat in the book had been a little more detailed and of a heavier yarn. I didn't need the strange backpack purse, or the poncho, and could have used extra pullover sweaters. Still, a wonderful book for us plus sized gals.
don't buy until you look at it in person September 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was so excited when I heard about this book. Unfortunately, I ordered it without looking at it first. The two patterns I liked call for Blue Heron yarn that is nearly impossible to find. Everything else . . . why bother? Aside from the shawl the other designs will just make me look bigger.
Good choice September 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I chose this book because I have 3 plus size sisters and wanted to make them Christmas gifts. The patterns are easy to follow even for a person like me, who hasn't crocheted in 15 years.
Plus Size is Beautiful August 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So happy to get patterns for the plus size gals. Would like to see them publish them one size smaller. Being a fairly new crocheter I am not into being able to reduce the size. The patterns are great and up to date.

This is a great pattern book, easy to read and understand, sturdy to carry around, and great, bright pictures. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has the "yarn addiction". diane B. Plano, Tx.
