5 out of 5 stars Simple sound golf instruction from the maestro, John Jacobs   August 29, 2008
The early version of this book came out in the 1960s. Very little has changed in the fundamentals of golf since then. John Jacobs is simply the best at imparting the necessary knowledge effectively. Enjoy, as I have.

5 out of 5 stars If you could have only one golf book this would be the one.   December 26, 2007
There are several really good golf books out there. But if I had to choose only one this would be it simply because it has all the instruction elements you need on which to build a solid swing and learn to play better golf. But more importantly is this that John Jacobs keeps it simple and to the point. Great book would recommend to any golfer especially those just starting out or struggling with consistency.

4 out of 5 stars practical golf   December 23, 2007
Practical Golf is a very good guide to building a solid golf swing. John
Jacobs, the author ,is a wonderful teacher and has keen insight into what
it take to hit good solid golf shots. The book is a reference book to
go back to when you are having trouble with your swing. Practical Golf
is one of the best book on golf I have ever read.

4 out of 5 stars A good book to have.   August 15, 2007
If you are a beginer or an experienced golfer, this is a good book to have. It has the right fundimentals to get on track with a good solid golf game. If you want to improve your game, or just beginning, I definetley recamend this book.

5 out of 5 stars The 'Go To' guide for golfers   August 9, 2007
I first discovered this book in the early `90's, when I was just beginning in the game of golf. Applying the learnings from this book allowed me to cut 10 strokes off my game within 3 weeks. At that time, I had a handicap of about 30 - which quickly dropped to 20. Now, many years later, my handicap is 6.

I still use this guide on a regular basis. When my game encounters problems, I pull out the book to diagnose and solve them.

Over the years I have given copies of this book to more than 30 of my clients and friends - all who share my love of the game. Everyone who has received it shares my opinion of the usefulness of this book and says it has significantly helped their game.

There is no question that John Jacobs knows the golf swing and knows how to improve all aspects of your game. The book is written in an easy-to-understand fashion with excellent illustrations.
