Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Cindy Reid displays a unique and gifted empathy for the record numbers of women taking up the game, too many of whom find themselves not enjoying it nearly enough. She understands that women learn the game in a completely different way from men. Driving, putting, playing, fitness, fashion, etiquette: It's all here! Filled with clear-cut advice and stunning full-color photography, this book covers all the basics in a simple, conversational style from getting the right clubs and accessories, through understanding all the basics of swing technique and game management, and right on into how to keep fit for golf. This book is also filled with anecdotal material on the social aspects of the game, including how to be confident on the course when men are trying to hurry you along, what to look out for when you take a lesson, even how to correctly fold a glove when you're on the green. This guide is perfect if you're a beginner, if you can play a bit, or if you're scratch. With this ground-breaking book, women golfers everywhere can post better scores, gain increased confidence, and above all, enjoy the game more than ever. Hardback; 309 pages.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A great book for beginners   July 3, 2008
I just recently started playing golf and took a few lessons. I found this book supported everything my instructor said and really cemented what I was learning. It is an instructional book but I found it easy to read and difficult to put down! Definitely a great book for someone just starting out. It was motivational and provided an overview of the golf swing, etiquette, and included some exercises to improve your "golf fitness".

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding!   July 21, 2003
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

A straightforward and extremely helpful look at golf for women (and men too). Cindy has been able to educate me in simple and a straighforward manner about golf and instructional tips to improve my game. I am excited and have renewed energy to approach golf from a different point of view without feeling intimidated by the game, rules, or people that are playing at a higher level.

She has the obvious ability to cut through the unnecessary "stuff" and get to the point by explaining and utilizing non-techincal and easily understandable techniques. I look forward to getting her instructional video also. Thanks Cindy for making the game more fun!
