Product Description
WHY CONFESS TO A MURDER YOU DIDN T COMMIT? Gordon Carlson, the high-flying CEO of a giant life insurance company, is faced with a crisis: Someone has murdered one of his company s biggest policyholders. Worse yet, the madman has threatened to murder more clients each day unless his demands are met. Carlson is now faced with a Catch-22 either protect his clients by going immediately to the police, or protect his company by trying to keep the nightmare tightly under wraps. But what Carlson doesn t understand is that he doesn t have any choice at all. He s already in a maze with no way out. And when he pushes deeper into the labyrinth by offering the killer a deal, suddenly, the real target becomes clear and the motive is not money, it s revenge. As Carlson s life quickly unravels, he has only days to solve the mystery and make everything right before more clients are murdered, and before his and his company s futures are completely destroyed.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Overall Great Job!!!   May 14, 2008
I picked up Adverse Selection and couldn't put it down. Medici takes you on a wild ride around New York with greed, extortion, empathy, and death as the drivers. It is extremely well written and just a pleasure to read. I recommend it to anyone that likes murder mystery type novels.

5 out of 5 stars Where does a CEO's loyalty lie..   April 7, 2008

Reviewed by Debra Gaynor [...], 4/08
It was a typical day in the life of Dr. Ken Crosby until someone shot him. His family would be well provided for; he had an insurance policy worth $1.5 million. Gordon Carlson is the CEO of an insurance company. His life was about to change. The killer sent a letter to Gordon. It was a list of intended targets. Each target had large insurance policies. The killer would element them one at a time until he received $500,000. Gordon has a dilemma: contact the police, hence protecting clients, or pay the money and avoid the publicity. Gordon was damned no matter what decision he made.
Adverse Selection by Stephen F. Medici this fictionalize tale of an actual event. The plot slowly builds the tension. The readers are exposed to the exploitation and deception that goes along with big business. There is always the question: Do I put people first or the company? The characters are well-developed. Fans of mystery and suspense need to read Adverse Selection.
