Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This book contains tips and advice on selected topics, including the grip, swing, distance control, club selection, putting, preshot routine, and mental-game strategies. The object is to present instructional advice from the perspective of a player, instead of an instructor. The author has accumulated knowledge over 40+ years of playing the game, taking lessons, reading books, and watching videos. He strives to present proven advice based on scientific principles and to weed out lessons that are based on myth or are just too complicated for recreational golfers with limited time to practice. The author uses simple to understand descriptions and examples on topics that he has found to be most helpful. The book is entertaining and fun to read!.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Hacker's Guide to Pretty Good Golf   May 31, 2008
Bruce Janke is a devotee of golf instruction manuals and golf videos and has done all of us a great service by incorporating in his text all the lessons he found useful while ignoring those that seem better suited to the professional. Read and absorb the instructions in his book and you'll play better, guaranteed, and he doesn't expect you to practice, practice like so many other books do. It's as if you had a playing partner offering tips on occasion. A stroke or two per nine add up to perhaps your best round ever.
