Product Description In this wickedly funny guide, professional astrologer Hazel Dixon-Cooper casts off sugar-coated astrology in favor of exploring the maladjusted side of the universe. If you want the inside scoop, the real deal, the lowdown on each sun sign, then look no further. It's time to forget those traditional astrology books where Sagittarians are gregarious, Capricorns are ambitious, and Pisceans are dreamers. Instead, enter a world where Archers are loud-mouthed bores, Goats are pompous social climbers, and Fish are chronically helpless. Dixon-Cooper debunks the myths, reveals the flaws, and examines the dubious virtues of each sun sign. Discover how to use your own inner brat to outwit bullies, outmaneuver manipulators, and win those endless games that lovers play. Learn how to deal with those dysfunctional people you encounter every day, including how to: - contain a Ram's oversized ego
- calm a raging Bull
- keep a fickle Twin faithful
Irreverent, biting, and laugh-out-loud funny, Born on a Rotten Day exaggerates the bad, exorcises the good, and puts a new spin on the age-old question -- what's your sign?

Too Funny! June 30, 2008 I was laughing out loud while reading this at Borders and just had to buy it; this was after the first 10 pages or so! I love the off color explanations of what the other texts 'really mean'. To be honest, I saw a lot of me, my friends and family in these depictions although not as horribly bad as Hazel says (in most cases). So it may not be 100% accurate but then how many of the astrological descriptions truly fit the person to a tee? If you are looking for a funny take on the astrological signs as well as a good read, I say you are making the right choice!
fun book June 27, 2008 I saw this at a friend's place, and it never fails to captivate folks when we're hanging out together at a gathering. Its definitely the kinda book that sucks you in. Basically, the author rags on every sign, telling you how its generally said these characters tend to behave, and then, she rails on them, telling it like it really is. She's just keeping it real! Ha! So, everybody wants a good roast and ends up fixating on her read of their personal sign, laughing at themselves! Swearing its not so! Quickly followed by looking up their partners, friends, etc. Very fun stuff. When I got one for my girlfriend, sure enough, at her birthday party, it was a winner! And everyone wanted a chance to check it out.
One pretty crappy draw back is this author is terribly hetero in all of her books, apparently! So the love matches she describes are always imagined as boy-girl. And whoa! Worse yet, in the FRIENDS ON A ROTTEN DAY, she writes it as if a woman's best friends are always other women. It's actually quite off-putting when you're reading, more than you'd expect.
Cute, satyrical book on the sun signs June 17, 2008 Don't expect a serious interpretation of your birth chart from this book. It's written about sun signs and it's meant to be funny and cute!
Perfect gift for people who are mildly interested in astrology and want to laugh while learning more about what it means to be an Aries, Pisces or whatever their sign is.
cute but predictable after a while... March 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
when you pick this up, you will be laughing or so offended that you might not get through the book.
i think most people will be in the former crowd.
it's very funny i tell you that. and mostly dead on but after a while, it runs in circles with its information and you will get bored....
worth a read, but a buy?
i don't deem it necessary.
3.5 stars.
end note: and if you want a positive look at the zodiac signs, PLEASE, LOOK ELSEWHERE. born on a rotten day portrays just that; in ALL of us!
Amazing Book! January 16, 2008 This book brings out the "dark" side of each zodiac sign with the perfect dash of humor. It is done tastfully not to offend anyone and you will enjoy this laugh out loud/read out loud book!
