Product Description From the bestselling author and world-renowned coach, a unique approach to the often neglected art of putting that reveals three important keys to unlock the secrets to improved performance and overall satisfaction.
E xtraordinary Putting offers an innovative approach to improving the overall golf game by focusing on putting, which accounts for more than one-third of the strokes in a typical round. Although not a tips-and-techniques book, Extraordinary Putting features a series of illustrated exercises that will help players develop:
- inner freedom to trust themselves and to recognize self-imposed barriers - peace of mind that comes from eliminating mental chatter and self-judgments - increased awareness that allows them to pay attention to their experiences, to understand the differences in those experiences from stroke to stroke, and to master the art of self-coaching
More than a dissertation on the "mental" game, Extraordinary Putting aims to help players let go of expectations, find true enjoyment in the game, and, above all, develop the ability to self-coach that is critical to ongoing success.

It Helps Me Everytime October 2, 2008 Extraordinary Putting is a masterpiece of instruction and life lessons combined. Every time I'm on the green I think of the lessons learned. I've dropped strokes in this critical area of the golf game. At the same time, I've been inspired by Fred Shoemaker's wisdom and ideas on how golf mirrors life in so many ways. Excellent read!
Great book! January 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is likely the best book I have read about the sport of Golf so far. A great book, that is well worth the money (and time reading it more than once). The excercises in the book are great and easy to follow with amazing effects.

Although I see several different philosophies woven into the authors work, what you call it doesn't matter. Reading this book is an essential for any golfer. You will learn things about yourself you didn't know, why you play golf....and, it will be an aid to improving your game. I have not practiced all the exercises, but just by reading the book, my swing and thought process has changed. My swing is more free, my thoughts are more free, and I am free from worrying about the result. I can't wait to read "Extraordinary Golf" next.
Learn to Relax April 10, 2007 Explore your mind and become truly aware of yourself with these golf tips to help you open up your game. There are also great exercises to help you relax.
Wonderful compliment to any technical study of putting February 14, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Awareness. It is something I never really experienced before playing golf. Being in the now and enjoying the sensations of the game will definitely be my goals for the upcoming season. Reading this book is like having a hypnotic session. You can start to see inside and outside of yourself and become amazed at how you work. I only wish that I was taught these things 20 years ago when I first started playing.
